Job Description : Plant Manager

Salary Range: $150,000- $180,000

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ensure that the production operations follow company standards, policies and practices
Oversees development and implementation of company policies and procedures
Provide leadership, direction and training opportunities to Managers & Supervisors to achieve company goals and objectives
Identify, select, and develop talent to ensure “bench strength” and continued development and advancement of top talent within the organization
Drive safety initiatives in a proactive manner and promote a safe work environment in daily operations
Accountable to ensure resources plans follow all production line designs standards
Partners with Quality to ensure quality programs including HAACP, GMP and CAPA are followed to deliver plant objectives
Analyzes manufacturing variances of ingredient, materials, and labor usage, developing strategies to reduce them and drive a continuous improvement culture.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as labor reduction, waste reduction, close out of CAPA actions, and 5S standards reduce our direct and indirect cost to deliver plant objectives
Responsible to ensure that plant is following the full kitting and buffer process
Enable and partners with product development team to ensure our ability to support speed to market and deliver premium desserts to our customers.
Works with Quality in the investigation, corrective action, and prevention of the food safety incidents and non-conformances.

Attends KPI meetings including monthly QA management meeting, and HACCP/Food Safety team meeting.
Works with Engineering, Maintenance and Sanitation teams to ensure, optimization of plant layout, coordination of plant shutdowns for startups for new equipment installations and ensuring MSS is completed on time for deep cleaning events
Responsible for driving a culture of safety and quality while meeting departmental objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

General knowledge of USDA, SQF, GMP, and HACCP, sanitation, quality, and safety programs required.
Black/Green belt in Six Sigma other continuous improvement tools, a plus.
Able to manage 20-200 + people through minimal direct subordinates
Must thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
Understanding and application of Theory of Constraints (TOC)

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a technical field
15+ years of Manufacturing Leadership.

PREFERRED

MBA degree
Bakery Experience
Bilingual English and Spanish

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Stooping, kneeling or bending.
Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
Must be able to speak and hear.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
