Job Description : Pre-Employment Screener (Entry-Level)Hire Performance – Markham, ONFounded in 1998, Hire Performance Inc. is a Canadian pre-employment screening company specializing in providing Investigative Reference Checks, Criminal Record Checks, Credit Checks, Employment Verifications, Education/Credential Verifications and other pre-employment checks to clients in a variety of industries. Our goal is to help clients make informed hiring decisions and to protect clients from employing fraudulent, dishonest, or otherwise unsuitable candidates.Position Details: Are you outgoing, cheerful, energetic, organized and team-oriented? Hire Performance wants to hire an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This Entry-Level Screening Specialist role is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain exposure to the background screening processes utilized by Human Resources professionals. As a Pre-Employment Screener, you will conduct investigative reference interviews, along with completing criminal record, employment, education, credit checks and other pre-employment checks. Main Duties: Handle independent workload; monitor file progression and provide regular progress updatesConduct investigative reference interviews primarily by phone; use notes to produce comprehensive reference reportsPrepare correspondence and verification request documents; submit to vendors or contacts by e-mail or phone Generate reports by data entering received information into standardized templatesRespond to telephone and electronic enquiries or forward to appropriate personInput data into computerized databases, or other templatesVerify accuracy and completeness of data; protect and ensure quality of generated reportsOther tasks as assignedEmployment Requirements: Completion of post-secondary school educationStrong oral and written communication skills, including active listening in EnglishAbility to respond professionally and to make effective, accurate and efficient decisions in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently while contributing to team goalsAbility to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgement and discretionAttention to detail with time management and organizational skillsFull-time availability from Monday to Friday – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Access to a clear phone line, internet, and a computer. Job Status: Entry-Level – full training provided virtually.Work hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with one unpaid hour for lunch. Work from Home/Remote WorkUnder occupational health and safety legislation, HPI has an obligation to take reasonable steps to protect the health and safety of its employees. As such, HPI will continue to operate with remote work capabilities for the foreseeable future.
