Job Description : Company Background & Job Summary: Headframe Spirits (HFS) was founded in 2010 and opened to the public in 2012 to create jobs and to re- inspire a community through storytelling as executed through great spirits. We serve three primary communities: the community of Team Headframe, our employees, customers, vendors and partners who help us execute with excellence; our community of place, meaning Butte, Montana; and our community of industry meaning our peer distilleries who work to elevate individuals, businesses and the spirits industry. We measure our success by our positive impact on each of these communities. HFS also includes a Tasting Room and has a sister entity, Headframe Spirits Manufacturing (HSM) which manufactures equipment for industry peers which is the same distillation equipment used at HFS.Production Assistants are responsible for executing the production work for the T85 production project first and foremost. Additional time will be spent in the production and packaging of Headframe branded spirits. Work will be performed on both first and second shifts, rotating the schedule throughout the year. The primary job functions are around the consistent production of our distilled spirits including all steps between mashing and barreling. Proper maintenance of equipment including the still, boiler, and other equipment are critical to success in the role as is detail in record keeping.Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Expectations: Spirits Production, Packaging, Safety & Compliance90% of time Description of Duty/Task:Production of SpiritsExecute the day-to-day production of mashing, fermentation, distilling, barrel handling, and transfer to warehouse operationsMaintain production Schedule as assigned in daily checklistProjects and Assignments executed on schedule and as dictated per procedure and/or by Production ManagerAssisting in inventory Management of all raw materials, work in process, finished goods and barreled product in coordination with management.Maintain quality assurance and recipe adherence at all stages from raw materials to finished goodsCoordination with internal and external team members to ensure success in all aspects of the production cycleSupport the production of all products, current and upcomingSafetyWork in a manner which will ensure the safety and security of all employees and visitors to the distillery, warehouse, packaging and storage facilitiesMaintain safety program in adherence with all local, state and federal guidelinesParticipate in recurring safety trainingMaintain safety, cleanliness and upkeep on all distillery facilities including interior and exterior of Headframe Facilities.Tools & FacilityPerform regular cleaning to exacting standards on still, tanks, lines, boiler and all other equipment as well as production and operations facilitiesMaintain all equipment and facilities appearance and function to best working standardsMaintain organized layout for tools to prevent damage, theft, etc.Operations and ComplianceMaintain records and paperwork regarding beverage alcohol & communication to Admin/Accounting of necessary data to fulfill TTB, State of Montana and any other state requirementsWork in compliance with processes and procedures to ensure current, accurate documentation exists for all policy and proceduresPerform regular Inventory auditsAssures efficient and effective overall operations by maintaining communication with internal departments and ownersWork in compliance with best practices with respect to picking, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.TeamworkParticipate in regular team meetingsDemonstrate good interpersonal skillsShows up with integrity, trustworthiness and conscientiousnessShow a strong ability to self-manage and maintain organizationShows up on time and ready to work for regularly scheduled shiftsSupport a participative environment characterized by teamwork and partnershipOngoing Education5% of time Description of Duty/Task:Ongoing education, generally planned by Supervisor, to maintain or enhance knowledge or skill in areas like safety, equipment operation and distilled spirits production.Assisting Others5% of time Description of Duty/Task:Performing tasks in assistance to other departments or tasks outside the scope of this job descriptionMinimum Qualifications (Experience/Education): The ideal candidate will have successfully completed some higher education coursework in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry or Food Science as part of a completed Bachelor’s degree curriculum, or can demonstrate a thorough understanding based on years of experience in a related working field such as brewing or distilling.Competencies or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s): Is looking to make a long-term relationship with an employerIs comfortable with computers, Office software and learning new software applicationsDemonstrates strong time management skillCommunicates wellHas no alcohol-related offenses on their recordComfortable learning to drive a forklift and delivery truck (with associated safety training)Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Work will be completed on two shifts which will rotate staff from time to timeCan lift 50 lbs.Most tasks performed standingProper PPE and Footwear will be provided by employerJob involves bending, lifting, climbing and some repetitive motionCell phones and smart watches will be stored in lockers and may be used during breaksTo learn more about working at Headframe, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTayeIQ2EisQualified applicants should do one of the following: 1.
