Job Summary

The Institute for Behavioral Genetics at the University of Colorado Boulder is searching for a Professional Research Assistant to assist the PI and coordinators with longitudinal studies pertaining to how aging affects substance use, mental health, and other genetic risks. Study participants will be adult twins, adoptees, and controls who will complete cognitive assessments, and interviews related to social, behavioral, physical, and emotional outcomes.

Who We Are

The Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) is an organized unit of the University of Colorado Graduate School dedicated to conducting and facilitating research on the genetic and environmental bases of individual differences in behavior. Within IBG there are many different studies to facilitate these goals. The CATSLife award studies how early and current influences accumulate over the lifespan to impact how well individuals build and maintain cognitive functioning.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Primary responsibilities include assisting with:

Recruitment; participant eligibility screening; conducting detailed clinical interviews in-person as well as via telephone; administering behavioral measures and assessments; and collecting and handling biological specimens (saliva and blood).
Duties also include obtaining informed consent, scoring and entering study data, attending research meetings, maintaining equipment and supplies, and providing assistance to the coordinator as directed.

Weekend availability is required.
This is a 100% position.

What We Can Offer

Salary for the position will be from $36,000 to $39,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skills.

What We Require

What We Require BA/BS in Psychology or a related field of study.
Experience working in a research setting.
Experience administering clinical interviews and assessments.

Ability to represent the University and our department in a professional manner.
Positive demeanor and enthusiasm for a research environment.

What We Would Like You To Have

Phlebotomy certification is preferred, otherwise training will be provided.
