Job Description : Trillium Technologies is looking for an accomplished individual keen to do good and do well to lead our US operations. The US Program Director has a key role in shaping and delivering the programs we create with NASA, Google Cloud, the Mayo Clinic and others to tackle the most interesting and important challenges of our time using AI. These range from detecting and managing wildfires, to creating detailed maps of resources on the Moon, mitigating the effects of global heating, to deploying ML payloads in orbit and applying AI to astronaut health. Our programs include the Frontier Development Lab which we founded in 2015.
What you will do:

Create exciting research and deployment programs in AI, space and climate science and medicine
Contribute business acumen and insight to the leadership team
Tell our success stories and articulate our ambitions through content and communications for US programs with the support of our able design and UX team
Cherish, maintain and extend our well established community of partners, academics and stakeholders
Lead fundraising, product development, program logistics and operations.
Manage and grow the US team and beyond

We are looking for someone just as passionate about machine learning, climate change mitigation and space exploration as we are.
You will bring:

A strong track record in program development and management
Dedication to developing and managing products and the teams to deliver them – especially in social enterprise, not for profit or research settings.
A desire to understand or experience of delivering interdisciplinary artificial intelligence and science research from concept to deployment
Joy in creating or guiding written content in all its forms: from tweets to research papers
An ability to get the job done with resourcefulness and flexibility
An advanced degree level education in social sciences, science, medicine, technology or computing
A demonstrable interest in space science and/or machine learning and/or climate mitigation and/or medicine.

Applications deadline: Monday 4 April 2022 (Midnight AoE)
Length of Contract: This will be a full time contract. There will be a three-month probationary period, with monthly reviews.
Compensation: $90,000- $120,000 dependent on experience. The breadth of salary bands reflects our interest in finding the right candidate for the role to accommodate varying levels of length and depth of experience and skills we are looking for.
We know the best way to support our people is by helping them establish balance. In keeping with our UK roots, we offer four weeks paid holiday, provide a generous monthly contribution to an HCA of your choice, and promote flexibility and remote working wherever possible.
Location: Virtual but based in the US and available during US business hours. When it is safe to do so the role is likely to include extended regular travel to Silicon Valley throughout the year. (The program location during two months of the summer will be in Silicon Valley at NASA Ames and the SETI Institute and possibly other locations nearby.)
