Project Customer Service Assistant

1 – Acting Position
Facility Services

CUPE Local 4400 Unit C – Grade I (12 Month)
$25.69 per hour

(It is anticipated that the acting assignment will end on January 15, 2023)

The Toronto District School Board adheres to equitable hiring, employment and promotion practices.
Reporting to an Administrative Team Leader, the Project Customer Service Assistant will

administer Site Funded Improvements, School Identified High Priority Project Requests and

Tenant Funded requests. The Project Customer Service Assistant will:

• Act as liaison and communicate pertinent project updates to Principals, Superintendents,
Project Supervisors, Design staff, school communities, other management staff, etc.; and

• Oversee central funding and work closely with schools to ensure funds are used
within the allocation and school funds are journalized.

S ummary of Duties:

➢ Act as liaison and communicate pertinent information on site funded process to schools;

➢ Provide information and updates on projects;

➢ Achieve and maintain rapport with customers and work to provide them with a seamless service;

➢ Create and maintain spreadsheets/databases of Site Funded Improvements, School Identified
High Priority Project Requests, and Tenant Funded Requests;

➢ Oversee central funding and work closely with schools to ensure funds are used within the
allotted amounts and school funds are journalized;

➢ Keep track of all financial issues regarding the allocations, used and carry forward funds;

➢ Coordinate the combinations of multiple funding sources such as Renewal, Ministry grants and
tenant funded;

➢ Create and maintain regular status reports for all projects in the various categories for
management staff; and

➢ Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

➢ Secondary school diploma including courses in computers and accounting and one years
related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

➢ Proficient keyboarding and computers skills which includes e-mail, word processing,
spreadsheets, databases, and financial information systems);

➢ Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and databases;

➢ Ability to communicate effectively with callers and staff with customer service focus;

➢ Analytical and problem-solving skills; and

➢ Good interpersonal and communications skills.

Location: 15 Oakburn Crescent (wheelchair accessible).

Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Year: 12 months

1. It is anticipated that interviews will take place within two weeks after the closing date of this
competition.
