Why should you join our team?
We are seeking an IT/OT Project Manager to join our Technology Project Management Office responsible for overseeing and leading all enterprise technology projects at Colorado Springs Utilities. You will leverage your project management skills and expertise to support technology modernization efforts, including providing technical project management support for key energy projects around advanced distribution management systems (ADMS) and distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS). The work that you do will also support the success of our fiber and telecommunications network as it continues to develop. Key areas of focus…

Champions positive customer relationships and a customer-service focus
Collaborates with the project sponsor and operating departments to identify project objectives, milestones, resource requirements, and deliverables
Guides and performs strategic analysis for projects with stakeholders
Builds project team from appropriate technical personnel assigns roles and responsibilities and facilitates cohesion
Develops project charters, plans, cost estimates, technical specifications, schedules, and contract documentation with the project team and outside vendors
Directs project meetings and resolves conflicts while gaining member commitment to project assignments
Initiates procurement of materials, resources, equipment, and services
Tracks, monitors, analyzes and reports projects’ costs, schedule, and scope status
Establishes and monitors project budgets; approves expenditures within limits of budgets
Drives timely project activities, as well as efficient and cost-effective use of time, materials, and resources
Identifies, assesses, and resolves critical and potential problems to meet project objectives/deliverables
Determines necessary changes or deviations to project plan facilitating decisions
Prepares formal and informal project communications
Organizes and manages multiple projects successfully

What you will bring…

Relevant and progressively responsible experience with managing high profile projects, preferably within an information technology framework or related environment
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, IT, Computer Science, or a related technology field is valued
Skill in Microsoft Project and SharePoint
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is valued, as are certifications in Agile and/or Scrum
Knowledge of project management best practices and standards
Competencies critical for success include customer focus, effective communication, prioritization and time management, strategic thinking, process optimization, resourcefulness, adaptability, and instilling trust
