Job Description : Job Title: Prover and Pipeline Operator FLSA Status: NonexemptBusiness Unit: Pelican – North Dakota Pay Class: HourlyGeneral Job Summary: This is a proving and pipeline operations position within Pelican Gathering Systems. The operator will be tasked with proving LACT units and maintaining our pipeline pigging program.Major Job Tasks: 1. Witness and assist in monthly proving of LACT units, truck unload facilities, and 3rd party transfers2. Observe all applicable A.P.I Standards, and Recommended Practices concerning lease and L.A.C.T. transfers.3. Document Monthly Provings.4. Create sales tickets for 3rd Party deliveries.5. Analyze data collects and false flow events for LACT system.6. Assist in populating monthly LACT vs Allocation spreadsheets.7. Maintain pipeline pigging program by shipping and receiving pigs.8. Drive long distances on occasion, encountering inclement weather and adverse conditions. Make repairs and/or modifications in the field under adverse conditions, sometimes after normal business hours.9. Maintain a safe work environment by following company policy including: safety, regulatory, P.P.E., H2S, explosive atmospheres, and arc flash safety.10. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in regard to Pipeline and SCADA related regulations.11. Maintain housekeeping duties related to proving and pigging activities.12. Work closely with other departments within Slawson Companies, as well as other pipeline company’s representatives.13. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Strong working knowledge of LACT units and SCADA systems.2. Strong working knowledge of pipeline pigging practices and procedures.3. Strong working knowledge of fluid properties and dangers inherent with crude oil.4. Familiar with centrifugal, and positive displacement pumps, back pressure regulators, pressure transmitters, HMI and PLC program operation, custody transfer ticket preparation, meter proving, and pipeline pigging.5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting and document writing.6. Must have working knowledge of liquid pipeline operations, and A.P.I. recommendations for tank gauging and lease oil purchase.7. Written communication skill to fill out routine forms and records.8. Oral communication skill to give, receives, or exchange information with co-workers.9. Excellent Interpersonal communication skill to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and complete assigned tasks.10. Ability to follow all company policies including, safety, regulatory, P.PE. H2S, explosive atmospheres, grounding/bonding, etc.11. Ability to follow specific, step-by-step instructions, standard procedures, and operating guidelines12. Ability to work effectively without supervisory guidance.Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2-4 years in oil field or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Requirements: 1. Seeing: Must be able to see to use hand and/or power/measurement tools.2. Talking: Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken words.3. Sitting: Must be able to sit for limited periods of time.4. Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to stand to use hand and/or power tools.5. Must maintain mobility to perform duties inside and outside of buildings.6. Must be able to work off a step ladder.7. Bending/Reaching/Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to bend, reach, or stoop to use hand and/or power and/or measurement tools.8. Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Heavy physical effort up to 75 pounds.9. Manual Dexterity: Major portions of daily work require application of manual skills involving motor coordination and finger dexterity.Work Environment: 1. Work is sometimes performed outside a regular office at remote pipeline locations.2. Light exposure to moving mechanical parts, high and unstable places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, flammable substances, loud noise, bright or dim lighting, and wet or humid conditions (non-weather).3.
