JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for working as part of a team to ensure the proper evaluation of the content and user experience for quality assurance. The Quality Assurance Tester will be tech savvy, detail oriented, and enjoy working or collaborating with instructional designers, multimedia designers, and development teams. The Quality Assurance Tester is meticulously focused on testing and evaluating learning content under the direction of the Team Lead, and reviewing developed content for quality standards within Brightspace.

HOW WILL I MAKE AN IMPACT?

Follows established best practices and procedures for testing in all course products
Hunts for bugs in the software and course products and defines solution or reports issues
Investigates problems, finding their root cause, and clearly documents findings
Raises usability concerns and proposes solutions to problems after performing thorough investigation, taking into account the needs of all end users
Tests bug fixes to determine if they are valid and complete
Verifies that bugs and quality assurance edits were properly implemented
Performs testing from the perspectives of various client roles and different devices/browsers
Validates that defined best practices were followed; suggests improvements to best practices when identified
Proposes suggestions for additions and improvements to the digital resources
Communicates status, findings, and progress on a regular basis

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Effective Communication: answer basic or routine questions from teams; asks appropriate questions and conveys updates to teams; adapts communication to different audiences; communicates messages that guide appropriate actions.
Influencer: analyzes opportunities and problems, share information and advice on improvements to course products.
Thoroughness: performs tasks according to quality and output standards; takes initiative to meet key deadlines or stakeholder requirements; solicits feedback on performance; measures accuracy of self and team members; sets improvement standards and assists with training to reduce errors.
Technical skills: experiments with new processes and tools to determine applicability; delivers effective learning solutions according to best practices; uses available tools in a variety of ways and comes up with novel solutions; effectively communicates instructional design and related concepts to key stakeholders.
Design Thinking: facilitates processes, structures, and relationships to collaborate well with peers and stakeholders; produces creative connections to other learning design solutions.
