Job Description : Overview:
CLARK, CO- Ranchers looking for an engaging and energetic FULL-TIME NANNY to join their active & athletic household and provide exceptional care for their 2.5-year-old boy! They live in an extremely rural and scenic area with thousands of acres of mountain cattle ranch, about thirty minutes from Steamboat Springs ski mountain. Their ranch was a former guest ranch, so they often have people visiting them; thus, it is ideal this nanny is very laid-back, easygoing and generally a people person! The hours are typically M-F 8:30-5:30PM, pay is commensurate with experience ($30-40/hr gross range), but you must be flexible to work the occasional overtime hours as needed + PTO. They are providing you with a fully remodeled one bedroom and one bathroom cottage, equipped with a washer dryer and full kitchen, just three minutes from their house. Ideally, this candidate is comfortable with responsive, child-led parenting styles. Authoritative parenting styles do not work for their son.
A nanny that likes skiing and/or horseback riding will be extremely happy there, but a nanny who enjoys getting takeout or Door Dash and socializing in the city will probably be lonely there. Their town has a lot of super interesting, young outdoorsy people in it. To reiterate, flexibility is crucial as the lifestyle of ranchers is inherently unpredictable. They would love the flexibility of someone who doesn’t mind coming in for a few hours on random weekends (especially when they have guests). They would also love it if you are willing to take on (and be compensated for) caring for their nieces/nephews when their siblings come to visit, and or when they travel!
Someone who is a self proclaimed outdoorsy person, and who truly loves and appreciates being in nature will thrive here; it is a bonus if you love fly fishing, snowshoeing, cross county skiing, horseback riding and gardening, for all of these activities are available on the ranch! Ideal candidate is creative, and always coming up with new activities to do during the week; is flexible, reliable, adaptable. Must love animals, they have six dogs, no care required except letting the dogs out when needed.
This job is child focused, and cleaning is done by cleaning staff but you will be expected to clean up toys, playroom etc as well as come up with age appropriate activities and playroom rearrangement. Open to helping assist with relocation. Must be fully vaccinated (Covid + booster, flu, tdap). Ideal start date is March 15th!
Qualifications:
BA/BS college degree | AA in related field of study
CPR/First Aid Certification (renew as needed)
Ability to make a one-year commitment unless applying for a temporary position
A passion for working with children
Two+ years childcare experience
Excellent work and personal references
U.S. driver’s license (this does not apply to NYC residents)
Complete Stop the Silence Training upon Membership
Fluent in English/Bilingual a plus
Competent swimmer
Non-smoker
Willing to go through extensive Background Check
Must be Live-Scanned and registered with Trustline if CA resident
Willingness to show proof of immunizations
No-cell phone driving signed guarantee
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
