Position Overview:
The Field Service department is looking for a highly motivated and talented technician to provide quality service and repair of complex MX20 airborne surveillance turrets. Additionally, the Field Service Representative (FSR) may also be required to deploy internationally to work assignments overseas at remote locations around the world. These overseas deployments could include hazardous conflict regions. FSR must always project a positive image of our department and company that will meet our customer’s highest expectations for service and support of their L3Harris Technologies equipment.
The most important performance objective for this department is to Repair, Test and Maintain Wescam MX sensor systems in accordance with pre-established processes, while adhering to customer deadlines. A successful MX Field Technician understands the gimbal system, understands how all components work together including peripheral interfaces, and able to effectively troubleshoot, repair and test a failed system.
This position requires a self-motivated, creative, forward-thinking, and energetic individual. Excellent communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills are a must. The ability to interface well with demanding customers as well as co-workers. The best MX Field Technicians are strong team players and customer focused. FSR must work well independently and can be relied upon to make difficult decisions that will affect the performance and availability of mission critical systems.
Minimum Qualifications:

Objective is to become proficient in troubleshooting, repair and servicing of Wescam MX-15 or MX-20 systems within 90 days. Initial MX Training may include formal 2-week training course, followed by extensive on-the-job training requirements.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair MX products to the line replaceable unit level. Understand and troubleshoot as required, problems related to aircraft integration of the MX product line. Perform Preventative Maintenance on MX turrets.
Prior FSR experience in both CONUS and OCONUS repair assignments and tasks.
Provide Wescam Training to customers on MX operations and operator-level maintenance procedures.
Be part of a motivated extended team that supports various U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD Military customers by repairing mission critical Wescam sensor systems.
Complete all necessary service and repair documentation as well as technical trip reports.
Must be U.S. Citizen
Must maintain eligibility requirements to access U.S. classified information
Active DoD Secret clearance

Skills Required:

A Field Service technician (FSR) for a defense contractor specializing in high performance stabilized imaging generally has at least 5 years’ experience as an electro-mechanical technician on products that are similar in complexity, a successful track record of career growth over time, and prior experience servicing systems in the field and in the factory.
Previous international or OCONUS Field Service Representative (FSR) experience is preferred.
Direct experience with systems integration, software, optical, and electro-mechanical systems is preferred. Previous work experience with aircraft, tower, or aerostat-based MX-20 sensor systems is desired.
Normal work schedule is Monday-Friday (40 hours/week). FSR must also be available to provide occasional off hour or weekend tasks in support of the customer requirements, as needed. Available to support assignments at OCONUS sites for short-term deployment periods. Total overseas travel is not anticipated to exceed 90 days/year.
Special Operations, AFSOC, DOD, Airborne Law Enforcement, or other similar experience is desired.
FSR may be required to travel to other international sites. Performs work-related duties in extreme environments and difficult living conditions.
Able to work outdoors in environmental conditions with temperatures in excess of 120 degrees.
When overseas, FSR must be able to work 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, and be on call 24/7. Typical schedule at OCONUS locations is 84 hours/week.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.
Demonstrable knowledge of troubleshooting electronics and mechanical systems, customer service skills and being a part of a motivated and diverse team. Must have the ability to troubleshoot system faults to the line replaceable unit level and the ability to work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to take corrective action.
Knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel is required, as well as knowledge of specialized software test programs. Knowledge in electronic and mechanical test equipment is also required. Familiarity with government contracting is preferred but not required.
Associates degree or bachelor’s degree. In lieu of formal education, 5+ years of relevant technician/field service experience may be considered.

Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements

Able to spend considerable time standing, bending, twisting, bending and kneeling while building a variety of assemblies.
Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and reach for items on shelves
Able to work with general manufacturing hand tools, computers and electronic troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies.
Use basic hand tools for mechanical assembly, metalworking machines and precision measuring and testing instruments.

Work Environment.

This position will require the ability to travel overseas. Up to 90% travel may be required.
Work may be conducted onsite at the customer location, flight line, aviation hangar, test facility, in the field, or in a manufacturing/test environment.
Candidate must be creative, open-minded, and a good listener.
Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical internal customers.
Must be able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven environment, without sacrificing product quality. Ability to logically address, analyze, and resolve problems.
Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects. Acute attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $46,000 – $85,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
