Summary/Objective:
The Research Analyst will develop, maintain, and quality control databases and sources. They present results to a variety of audiences and answer questions. This role focuses on researching and analyzing trends, opportunities, and pricing to identify themes. They will write reports with recommendations, visualizations and clear risk analysis. The environment will be varied and collaborative.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide research, financial modeling, and analytical assistance to the investment team regarding public equity, venture capital, private equity, credit, and funds
Evaluate investment opportunities and make investment recommendations
Conduct fundamental research/due diligence and write research reports
Monitor existing investments, review investment reports and performance, participate in conference calls, and summarize findings
Participate in internal investment committee staff meetings
Assist in the production of portfolio reporting
Carry out other duties and special projects as assigned and/or requested
Perform other duties as assigned

Competencies:

Quantitative aptitude, as evidenced by academic achievement and/or work experience
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Possess significant knowledge of statistics
Ability to generate ideas and present to a team with strong oral and written communication in a time-sensitive environment
General understanding of financial markets, economics, and its influence on investments
Basic knowledge of stock analysis and valuation techniques
Ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a team environment
High degree of personal and professional maturity
Exceptional work ethic and a deep sense of accountability

Education and Experience:

4-year Bachelor’s degree is a prerequisite.
A MBA degree or CFA designation is preferable.
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Index, Match, IF statements, etc.) and proficient in Word and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg is preferred
