Position Description: Since our founding in July 2019, we have developed a broad portfolio of technology across three product verticals. Our Planning Products Team is developing tools that solve logistics and communications planning problems using machine learning, artificial intelligence, and combinatorial optimization. Our OverKey® Products team is developing cybersecurity solutions for US Space Force and multiple industrial applications. Our Waveform & Signal Processing Products Team is developing communications and positioning solutions that are more resilient, secure, and cost-effective to meet the needs of our customers in defense and beyond.
Caliola’s Research Scientists work directly with our Chief Scientist to define the core algorithms that underlie and differentiate our products. Currently, our analysts are synthesizing goal programming and constrained optimization techniques to help the US Navy better plan its future satellite communications architectures. They are also working with large real-world data sets to develop a GPS-denied positioning solution for the Missile Defense Agency. We are looking for teammates that share a passion for the creative application of formal methods to solutions supporting warfighters and first responders. If you are an applied mathematician, statistician, physicist, or data scientist looking to apply your analytical toolkit to real-world problems in the defense domain, this position may be right for you!
Technical Responsibilities:
Research, develop, and design formal approaches and algorithms to meet application-specific requirements.
Perform trade studies across different algorithmic approaches, parameterizations, and performance metrics.
Communicate results both internally and externally in writing, through multimedia, and live presentations.
What We Require:
BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Fluency in one or more of Python, R, or C++.
Strong technical communications skills are a must (e.g., conference publication / presentation experience).
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
What We Value:
MS or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience with digital signal processing algorithms and techniques.
Experience with artificial intelligence, broadly defined (e.g., combinatorial optimization).
