Guided by a deep commitment to the potential of innovation and technology to change and save lives, our mission is simple: no young person in Canada will ever be alone in their time of need, because Kids Help Phone is here.The positionReporting to the Information and Referral team lead, the Resource Specialist supports young people and front line staff by curating and validating records of community based resources found on Kids Help Phone’s community resource database : Resources Around Me. This curated resource database provides young people with trusted referrals to resources such as shelters, emergency crisis supports, etc. The successful candidate will use information management standards and best practices to support the development and maintenance of Canada’s largest youth mental health resource database. The Resource Specialist supports the needs of the Information and Referral team by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data.Resource specialists also support the boarder organization through research and resource dissemination related to their portfolio and contribute to project and programs within Kids Help Phone’s evolving services to youth from coast to coast to coast.What you’ll doMaintain Community Resource Database RecordsResearch, identify and input community based programs from across Canada into the Community Resource Database.Create, enter and update database records according to recognized Information and Referral Standards, AIRS/211 LA County Taxonomy Indexing, and Internal PoliciesParticipates in a variety of solicitation methods and processes, including but not limited to telephone, email, and outreach to confirm the accuracy and completeness of record information.Develop work aids to support the use of the Community Resource Database for internal and external stakeholdersProvides high-quality, timely, efficient and effective services, including entering and reporting data, and carrying out document and records managementAssist in the development of Information and Referral policies and procedures to reduce barriers to access and increase support available to equity deserving populationsOther responsibilities as required to support the work plans of Indigenous Initiatives and Equity Programs, Clinical Practice Specialists and larger organizationDepartment ValuesWe are, and believe in being: courageous, collaborative, innovative, resilient and trustworthyWe are willing and wanting to support IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) within assigned work, learning opportunities and department initiatives.We confront systemic racism and bias within our standards and procedures to support equity-deserving communities to access mental health support that meets young people’s unique needs.What you will needSkill RequirementsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracyComfortable working independently with minimal supervisionDiligent job ethic, information oriented, and self-motivated.Strong research, time management, and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work within a standardized environmentAdvanced computer skills (ie.
