We are currently looking to fill a Lead Merchandiser position in the Great Falls/Havre market for our 2022 season. If you like working with plants and flowers, take pride in maintaining a beautiful environment for customers, have experience building and training strong teams, can work efficiently with little supervision, and make independent decisions, this is the right opportunity for you.We are seeking an organized, motivated individual to help build and manage our team in the Great Falls/Havre market. This is an excellent seasonal opportunity that offers a flexible schedule, a fun work environment, benefits during the time of employment, and the possibility of future advancement. The ideal candidate will have previous management and retail merchandising experience, and basic plant knowledge, but we will train the right applicant. You will contribute to a successful sales season, by maintaining excellent merchandising and care standards of live goods in 4 stores throughout the territory.Seasonal Lead Merchandiser Position Requirements: – Interview prospective merchandisers, and make hiring recommendations to Area Manager-Ability to lead merchandisers and manage daily needs of the stores- Ability to prioritize store visits and be flexible to change and adapt to a variety of urgent workload assignments-Ability to travel between stores, often on a daily basis, and work a varying schedule depending on store needs, which will include some weekends.-Effectively communicate with Area Manager and location managers regarding store and product conditions-Consistently demonstrate integrity, reliability and a strong work ethic- Must have a smartphone with access to your own email and the internet- Must be able to download and use company apps on your smartphone- Smart phone needs to have the capability to send/receive pictures and post required pictures to company apps each week- Must have dependable vehicle, and provide a valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance, and a clean Motor Vehicle Report prior to hireSeasonal Lead Merchandiser Position is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the following duties:- Move and lift store fixtures to build tables and displays. Set up and maintain garden center displays to comply with specific account layouts and standards.- Unload plant deliveries and restock displays, which requires moving fully loaded delivery racks. This position is labor intensive, and requires constant motion throughout the shift, which includes lifting, bending, squatting, pushing & pulling.- Lift and carry flats and pots of product to racks or tables (approx 10-40 lbs).- Lean over tables and reach overhead to condense, organize and stock product on tables and racks.- Assist store personnel as needed to ensure product is fully watered and maintained to minimize markdowns. Identify and remove product to be marked down or disposed of.- Maintain a professional image by complying with the ProGro dress code- Interact with customers, competitors, store personnel and co-workers in a courteous and professional mannerThe successful candidate for this position will be self-directed and enjoy working outdoors, both independently and with other team members.Position starts late March/ early April and lasts through September, possibly into October. Hours vary depending on store needs, but will be full time for the majority of this term.
