The University of Northern Colorado is located in Greeley, Colorado, population over 100,000, an hour’s drive north of Denver, and within driving distance of the Rocky Mountains. Description of Job

Operates and continually updates the computerized ID Card Access/Perimeter Door Security System.
Schedules/performs minor service and/or adjustments for hardware, and schedules locksmiths or local contractors to service larger problems.
Programs ID card access to authorized card holders, schedules building standard times, special event unlock/lock times, access levels and other related system functions into the computer.
Coordinates with IT personnel to verify all computer network connectivity is operating smoothly.
Schedules and provides instruction for the use of system for Facilities, University Police Department and Residence Life and Housing Services staff by developing training manuals and hands-on demonstrations.
Receives/interprets trouble calls from campus departments and assigns appropriate shop or contractor.
Retrieves/prioritizes work order from the computerized work order system, assigns appropriate shop code or contractor code and forwards coded work orders to appropriate shop supervisor.
Creates and logs call-back work orders in the work order system.
In conjunction with manager of Support Services, determines whether incoming work orders are billable and codes such work orders accordingly.
Operates two-way/Nextel radio system by dispatching work crews to urgent calls for service and clarifying/confirming information requested by work crews.
Trains and supervises student employees in ratio traffic and work crew dispatch procedures.
Contacts outside contractors, including pest control, roofing, elevator, etc. for work orders requiring their attention.
Liaison between Facilities and campus community

Assists callers and walk-in customers.
Advises building representatives of necessary utility outages (e.g. hot water).
Listens to complaints/concerns about services provided from callers/walk-in customers and offers possible resolution.
Provides status updates of in-progress work orders and other related matters.

Coordinates with University Center Administration for scheduling of ID card access/perimeter door security system for after-hours access to the Computer Commons Computer Lab.
Programs, maintains and updates records for faculty, staff and currently enrolled students.
Deletes necessary student records when students graduate, transfer or withdraw from classes to ensure building security.
Key issuance for campus departments by verifying authorized signatures for key issuance and cuts new keys if required or need reissued.
