Position : Secondary Assistant Principal

Job Description : TITLE: Assistant Principal

BASE SALARY: $75,000 – Based upon Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. State of Colorado Principal Licensure
2. Minimum of Master’s Degree in Education
3. Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience

REPORTS TO: The Building Principal

SUPERVISES: All employees assigned by the Building Principal.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with the preparation of all secondary school handbooks
2. Assist with the planning, organizing, and directing of educational programs.
3. Assist with the Master Schedule and the scheduling of students.
4. Assist with the screening, hiring, orientation training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s professional staff.
5. Assist with the coordination and reporting of evaluate progress monitoring testing and data analysis.
6. Assist with the supervision of extra-curricular activities.
7. Assist with the development and implementation of the Unified School Improvement Plan’s.
8. Assist with the development and implementation of the Title IIA Application
9. When the Dean of Students in absent, assume responsibility for student attendance and conduct.
10. Ensure the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations by the school’ staff and students.
11. Observe and conference with teachers and other staff, making recommendations for improvement of performance.
12. Assist with the planning and supervision of fire drills and the emergency preparedness plan.
13. Conduct meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
14. Keep the Principal informed of the school’s activities and problems.
15. Evaluate teachers and other staff members, making recommendations for renewal of contracts.
16. Assist with the administration of the PARCC/CMAS Testing.
17. Assist with the administration of the ACT Testing.
18. Assist with IEP staffings when required.
19. Provides data as required for state reporting.
20. Other duties as assigned.

The District reserves the right to amend this job description as necessary.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As determined by the Governing Board.
EVALUATION: At least annually by the Building Principal
