About the Role: We are looking for a SITKA® Gear Global Merchandising Leader to join our SITKA® Gear team. In this role, you will create and drive assortment strategies, develop and select product that meet financial plans and deliver planned business results. You will also drive cross-functional alignment with Design and Production to ensure the right product is delivered on- time and meets cost targets. This position will serve as the strategic business driver for the product development, ensuring product and presentation enhances the brand while achieving sales targets and maintains brand integrity. We are open to qualified candidates working remote from home, anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities:
Partner in the development of seasonal strategies for the SITKA® Gear apparel and footwear lines that meet sales, margin targets, and aligns to the overarching company strategy with a constant understanding of the competitive environment
Partner with cross functional partners to drive effective communication
Lead the creation and communication of seasonal line plans to guide the global product creation function including design, product development and production in support company objectives
Merchandise and present seasonal product assortments that meet sales and margin targets while meeting design aesthetics
Create assortment strategies with an understanding of fabric and materials, as well as lead times: right product, right price, right time
Create and communicate pricing strategies that align with brand positioning
Track business performance; Identify risks and opportunities for reacting to current business
Rank styles based on historical and current product performance, as well as sell through
Act as reference point for sales offices regarding calendar, and deliveries
Provide thorough and meaningful analysis of channels and effectively articulate learnings to management and cross-functional partners
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years experience in apparel and footwear merchandising and/or product development, including a minimum of 3 years experience in Performance Apparel (Wholesale, Ecommerce and Retail)
Minimum of 4 years of direct people leadership experience
Deep knowledge of current market for technical and every day apparel
Strong relationships and experience with product development, design, production and buying teams
Strong leadership skills and business acumen including Retail math, operations and visual merchandising
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced consumer brands environment, ability to make quick decisions
Ability to problem solve with a growth mindset
Ability to travel up to 25%
