Position : Special Needs Educator
Job Description : I am seeking full-time educator/care-giver to teach and support my two children with developmental disabilities aged 17 (son) and 15 (daughter) in a home-based, school, and community program. The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with each child as part of a dedicated and talented team of educators and caregivers.The children are non-verbal with global developmental delays. These challenges are being addressed through a unique, customized, fun, inclusive, education, and life-skills program that includes adapted communication strategies, physical fitness, life skills, literacy, and social integration in the home and the community with demonstrable progress and success over years.DSW, Social Work, Child and Youth, ECE or teaching background is required with experience working with young adults with disabilities an asset. Experience working with alternative communication strategies would be an asset but not required. All candidates will have intensive training and mentorship as well as oversight and support.A valid Ontario driver’s license with driving experience and a clean driving record is required. A vehicle will be provided to transport the children. Must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, and must be amenable to standard background check and be fully vaccinated.Location is in Toronto at Yonge and Lawrence area.
