The lessons you learned and the friends you made will last a lifetime. You’d like to help even more kids have a wonderful camp experience, and you’d like to help inspire the next generation of animal lovers.**You’re just the sort of person we’re looking for as a Camp Counselor.**Camp Paw Paw is Willamette Humane Society’s day summer camp for elementary-aged kids. As a Camp Counselor, you’ll be directly involved in administering the camp. The work you do will ensure that kids have a great time, stay safe, and learn all about how to care for animals in our community. And you’ll join a dedicated team that will support you, your work, and your growth.**Let’s dig into the specifics of this position so you can determine if it’s the right opportunity for you.**As a Camp Counselor, you work will fall into three main categories:Administer. Lead the day’s activities, teach group lessons, introduce speakers, and help campers.Assist. Set up camp activities, clean up when the day is done, and otherwise keep camp spaces clean and tidy.Model. Show children how to be a good animal caregiver through your calm, patient actions. Help shy campers connect with their peers, and always be a listening ear for those in need.Your benefits will include:A reliable salary. You’ll get a paycheck twice per month, with a salary ranging between $13.60 and $16.90 per hour. Hiring appointments usually start at the beginning of the salary range, but previous relevant experience will be considered. Do you speak a language other than English? You may be eligible for a pay differential.Short-term assignment. Tackle the work for two meaningful months, and then return to your job or school. Make a little money this summer with no long-term commitment required.Time away. When your shift is done, you’re done for the day.
