Ardurra was ranked 190 in ENR’s 2021 Top 500 Firms and has made Zweig Group’s prestigious Hot Firms and Best Firms to Work For lists in 2019, 2020 and 2021!Ardurra is seeking a Survey CADD Designer to join our staff in Phoenix, AZ.Primary FunctionCandidate would use CAD equipment/software to provide support to engineers by preparing civil, environmental, and mechanical engineering drawings for construction. Specific drawing types would include routine plan layouts, profile and section views, detail drawings, mechanical pipe works and assemblies, display exhibits, sketches and schematic diagrams. Project types for which drawings would be developed include utilities construction (primarily water, wastewater, and reclaimed water) associated with civil development or municipal projects, civil/structural and mechanical improvements to treatment facilities or industrial projects, etc. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction.Primary Duties
Calculations of material quantities, lengths, areas, etc. for preparation of cost estimates
Determination of cut and fill required for site development
Assistance with production development, including the printing and binding of plans packages
Candidates should have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology and construction drawings
Candidate should possess mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. The level of design decisions and responsibility required of the candidate will be based on their level of experience and familiarity with the type of project
Education and Experience Requirements
Entry-level classification normally requiring an Associate’s degree or high school graduate with vo-tech training in basic drafting technology (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
5 to 10 years of CADD Design experience
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
Understanding of layer standards
Understanding of text fields
Understanding of grading/elevation with feature lines
Create offset profiles (preferred, not required)
Knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012 and/or Revit preferred
Modeling proposed & existing grade surfaces preferred
Knowledge of AutoDesk Pipe Network preferred
Knowledge of AutoDesk Pressure Pipe networks preferred

Technical capacity and ability to visualize civil, structural, and mechanical elements in 2-D viewpoints based on limited 3-D alternative views, and vice versa
Good communication & collaboration skills
Problem solving and analysis skills
Ability to project the time required to meet goals, manage time available and prioritize production based on deadlines
