Job Description : The Town Clerk position is responsible for performing the official duties and functions of the Town Clerk for the Town of Avon as required by the Avon Home Rule Charter, Avon Municipal Code, Colorado Constitution, State Statutes, Town Charter and other applicable regulations, and is responsible for administering and overseeing the Town Clerk division, which includes the Avon Municipal Court.
This position develops and implements department budgets, policies, procedures and provides a wide variety of detailed and complex clerical transactions, records and legal documents.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field with at least five (5) years of progressive work experience in municipal government or other local government organization, at least three (3) years supervising, training and mentoring staff. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted. Prior town, city, or county clerk experience is required for consideration for the Town Clerk position. Certification by the Colorado Municipal Clerks Association is desirable.
Special Requirements
Interested candidates must submit an application and a list of three (3) references to jobs@avon.org. Effective September 6, 2021, all new hires in Town of Avon MUST be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with either the FDA emergency vaccines or final approval vaccines. New employees will not be permitted to start until vaccination cards have been shown to Human Resources. Please remember that 14 days must pass after your final vaccine shot before you are considered fully vaccinated. The Town reserves the right to suspend or extend the posting deadline based on receipt of qualified candidates. A background check and reference checks will be required prior to employment.
