Position : Trader/Equity Analyst
Job Description : The Investment Trader will be a key member of our team, supporting portfolio managers, client relationships and operations. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to the many aspects of our investment management firm, and will be an important resource to support growth in the organization.The scope of responsibilities is expected to evolve over time.Candidates must be focused, analytical and possess strong communications skills. A thorough understanding of local and international equity, and fixed income is of paramount importance for this role. The Trading Desk also assists various departments with market information, investigations and order processing.Core responsibilities include: Trader: Daily Responsibilities: – Efficiently and accurately process Trade generation & ensure best execution- Monitor news; convey significant news, changes in stock prices to relevant Portfolio Manager- Account reconciliation with prior day’s trades- Monitor cash positions & portfolio constraints (including daily cash flows)- Maintain trade related spreadsheets on a daily, weekly and ad hoc basis.Trader related responsibilities include: – SMA – communicate model change to SMA clients- Month end/Quarter end compliance checks- Monitor asset mix spreadsheet; coordinating with other colleagues- Maintain broker commissions; coordinate with Equity Team- Pay soft dollar invoices as requiredAnalyst:- Research – provide regular research, insight & recommendations- Security screening- Assist with special projects- Maintain research related spreadsheets including scoresheet data- Maintain Approved & Monitor lists (spreadsheets)- Maintain Equity LibraryThe ideal candidate would have some or all of the following qualifications: · CFA Designation or progress towards designation· 3-5 years experience with an investment manager or dealer· Undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics or comparable· Strong attention to detail· Solid technical skills, including excellent skills in Excel (Working with Macros; capturing and recording important data using shortcuts and formula functions; utilizing pivot tables; VBA experience· Ability to work in a team environment· Positive professional attitudePlease state salary expectations.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental careDisability insuranceExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingVision careSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:We have followed Provincial Guidelines throughout the Pandemic and instituted a daily Attestation Log Book for all staff, visitors and vendors which will be continued for the foreseeable future.Ability to commute/relocate:Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)Education:Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)Experience:with investment manager or dealer: 3 years (required)Application deadline: 2022-04-01
