TRAVEL COORDINATOR SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Travel Coordinator makes arrangements for the organization’s employees and guests traveling on company business.
TRAVEL COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as a general resource and point of contact for travel-related issues; assist employees with travel-related issues or concerns
· Research, negotiate, and secure rate with airlines, car rental companies, and hotels to make most economical decisions
· Act to ensure safe and efficient travel operations, in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines
· Receive and respond to incoming travel requests on behalf of the organization
· Perform special projects and assignments as directed
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. Works in conjunction with Accounting to ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing of travel requests and travel expense reports.TRAVEL COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or GED certificate is required; an associate’s degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., hospitality, travel) is preferred. 3+ years of experience in corporate travel or a related field is also required.
Need someone who can work independently and as part of a team. Must have strong oral and written communication skills; must be a good listener. Must be extremely well-organized, able to multitask and prioritize. Need a positive attitude, attention to detail, patience, and persistence.
Must have experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Must be a citizen of (country). Must possess a valid (state) driver’s license and have access to a vehicle. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and employment history, education, and credit verifications.

TRAVEL COORDINATOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to communicate orally with employees and vendors is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attending meetings, etc.), is required.
Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common. Must also be able to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.
No heavy lifting is expected; only occasional exertion of 10+ lbs. of force (e.g., carrying binders, laptops) may be required. Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, fax machines, copiers / scanners).WORK ENVIRONMENT The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting.
