Job Description : Title: Unarmed Event Security Guard (Temporary Contract)
Location: Downtown Denver, CO
Position: Unarmed Security Guard for Large Festival
Compensation: $22-$25 per hour, dependent on qualifications.
Equipment: New Wave will provide the required uniform shirt and Personal Protective Equipment. Employees are required to provide black shoes and pants and smartphone with active data service.
Availability: Must be available for work June 24th-27th, 2022. Must be able to work a full 12-hour shift. We are hiring for all shifts; Mornings, Evenings and Overnights.
Job Duties:
· Ensure the Security, safety, and well-being of staff, attendees, and the premises.
· Patrolling assigned event grounds by foot or by a patrol vehicle.
· Active engagement in the event through observation and reporting problems or potential hazards to appropriate channels.
· Maintain constant communication with event staff and supervisors by keeping all parties in the assigned area up to date on current policies and company rules. Utilize company applications and equipment for reporting and communications.
· Respond to suspicious activities and disturbances and inform the client and security management in a timely manner.
· Locking or securing event grounds and other designated areas per client needs.
· Understand the logistics of the special event, including its rules & regulations (i.e., checking IDs and wrist banding 21+, bag checks, and ensuring proper credentials for access to event areas), presented in orientation and training before the event.
· Maintain liquor boundaries where the sales or distribution of alcohol occur and upholding the Colorado liquor laws.
· Provide hospitality to staff and attendees. This includes providing general information and wayfinding.
· Comply with the Company uniform policy for the event and arrive prior to the event start time ready to work.
· Conduct in of guests by physical pat downs and/or metal detector wands and conduct bag searches to prevent weapons and other unauthorized items from entering venue.
· Adhere to all company standard operating standards.
· Other tasks assigned by the Operations Manager, General Manager, Security Manager or Security Supervisor.
Qualification Requirements:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Provide credible references and I-9 Employment Eligibility Documentation (legal eligibility to work in the U.S.).

Ability to pass a fingerprint background check.

· Ability to stand and walk for the shift duration, sit, bend, and lift to 50 pounds.

Reading, writing and interpersonal communication proficiency in the English language.
Fundamental knowledge of diversity and inclusion to create an equitable, safe and welcoming environment for all.
Must have a smartphone with active data service and functional knowledge of using mobile apps for report writing, guard tours, activity reports and basic computer proficiency.

· Experience in inspection of persons (Metal detection wands and pat downs) and property (bag checks) for safety hazards.
· Must be able to perform stressful situations and emergencies.
· Must be capable of passing a fingerprint background check and drug screening.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
· Ability to stand and walk for the shift duration, sit, bend, and lift to 50 pounds.
· Ability to inform personnel and visitors of security policies and procedures.
· Experience in documenting security report writing.
· Proficient interpersonal communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
· Proficient in verbal de-escalation techniques, self-defense tactics, verbal judo, resistance control continuum etc.
· Denver Guard Card Preferred, but not Required. Must be able to obtain before starting work in the city limits of Denver.

Experience in CPR, first aid, firefighting and crowd control is preferred, but not required.

· People with Security, Law enforcement, Military, and EMS background are strongly encouraged to apply.
