What is this career opportunity?
The User Experience Developer is a member of the Enterprise Digital Services Management Bureau and builds user-friendly digital processes to increase accessibility to State Government. This position will work with both business owners and technical development staff to increase the end-user experience within the ServiceNow digital platform.
This position affords the opportunity to telework from a remote location within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.
Qualifications:
What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
1+ years’ experience in development using JavaScript and Angular JS.
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Competencies:
Knowledge of or ability to learn:
HTML 4/5, Bootstrap and CSS experience is highly desired.
UX or interaction design with emphasis on human-centered design methods.
Software development, practice, concepts, and technology either obtained through formal training or work experience
Technical / business environment
Front-end and back-end web application development
Cross-browser compatibility issues, browser degradation/progressive enhancement strategies, optimization and accessibility techniques
Ability to:
Develop across various web technologies
Provide domain expertise and technical assistance to internal support team when complex issues arise
Provide functional and technical documentation for enablement of new capabilities
Operate and deliver high quality code deliverables independently and without significant oversight in a timely manner
