Job Description : Job SummaryThis Receptionist is responsible for being the face of the hospital and the first point of contact for clients and patients. S/he works closely with the veterinary team to provide quality medical care. S/he is responsible for ensuring the client and patient experience is positive, welcoming, friendly and exceptional. The Receptionist also partners to promote and participate in outside hospital events as needed.Key Accountabilities Greet clients and patients with an enthusiastic and warm environment while consistently providing professional, efficient, and exceptional serviceCreate and maintain a clean, neat, and inviting reception area for clients and patientsAssist with client’s needs before and after meeting with the veterinary teamResponsible for reception duties such as answering and managing phone calls, making appointments, incoming and outgoing patientsCashier duties including reconcile cash drawer daily (opening and closing processes)Educate clients on patient careAdapt to varying levels of stressful situations (utilize stress resiliency)Be empathetic and compassionate in a variety of emotional situations, including end of life situations for patientsEffectively route the flow of the day to maximize efficiency of the veterinary teamUtilize excellent communication and organizational skills between veterinary team and clientsMust be willing and able to learn basic technical skills, such as restraint, performing lab duties, etc.Adhere to OSHA standards and regulations as outlined by WellHaven Pet Heath company policiesPerform other job duties as assigned Required Core Competencies Accountability Customer Focus Action Oriented Priority Setting ApproachabilityRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent1+ year related to customer serviceHandle and work well with dogs, cats, exotic animalsAble to adapt to different types of clientsProficient in computer software and typing skillsExcellent communication skills (including interpersonal and phone skills)Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in the veterinary industryOn and Off-Site Work OptionsAll work is to be done on-site or at an approved outside hospital/event location and not at home.Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift minimum of 25 lbs.Must be able to adapt to work environment, includes but not limited to pace, pet waste and noiseMust be able to work up to 11-hour shifts, Saturdays, some holidays and eveningsBe able to work at computer station for extended periods of timeEmployee is routinely exposed to a variety of patients that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.Pay/Salary: Market based dependent upon prior experience, education and skills Commitment to Diversity WellHaven commits to a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
