As our VP of Learning & Development, you are a protector of the realm. You will be directly responsible for conducting a learning and development gap analysis for both brands (Punch Bowl Social and Wagamama) which will result in short, medium and long-range plans for the Learning and Development (L&D) function. The initial focus will be to plan for the L&D needs within restaurant operations including hourly team member station-specific training, MIT programs and New Restaurant Openings. The first 18 months in this role will be skewed heavily toward the tactical building of L&D infrastructure to support brand growth while keeping strategic initiatives in mind. You will define metrics to measure L&D effectiveness and institute systems of continuous improvement. Your team will be comprised of direct reports for both brands and several third-party contractors.

What you’ll be doing:
Consulting & Operations Support
· Analyze current state of learning and development across both brands and create detailed plans to create L&D systems, programs, content, and teams that improve individual and team performance.
· Work closely with Operations and Human Resources leaders to develop and implement career pathway programs.
· Lead L&D team coordination with Restaurant Operations to develop training content and delivery for culinary and operations initiatives.
· Oversee the New Restaurant Opening (NRO) process for both brands in collaboration with operations
L&D Design, Delivery, Knowledge Management & Facilitation
· Lead the L&D Team, third party vendors, and subject-matter-experts (SMEs) in the design, development, and delivery of training.
· Manage the content hub for both brands
· Model, coach, and document facilitation skills at every level for both brands
Data, Analytics & Technology
· Develop metrics and continuous improvement methodology for the L&D function
· Develop standard reporting and analytics for all training programs (NROs, MIT programs, implementations, etc.)
· Oversee the successful implementation of L&D technology and systems such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and resulting integration(s) with Operations, IT and HRIS systems.
Leadership
· Hire, coach, develop and lead the L&D team for both brands
· Participate in Leadership Meetings for both brands as required
· Maintain open, candid and trusting relationships with colleagues, direct reports and senior leadership
· Communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully while ensuring plans and strategies are implemented as promised
Qualifications

10+ years training experience with demonstrated track record of training and development improvement and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced experience in LMS both technically and functionally.
Advanced experience in instructional design.
Advanced Project Management experience and demonstrated leadership.
Multi-unit hospitality/restaurant experience.
Experience leading and mentoring a team.
Strong ability to represent concepts and brand, as well as summarize and communicate complex ideas into curriculum
Ability to expresses ideas and communicates with individuals clearly, concisely, and respectfully. Genuinely listens to others. Ensures thorough communication plan and strategies are implemented.
Must be able to quickly understand the business and apply learning methodologies that best meet our goals and objectives.
Ability to create and execute plans aligned with business priorities and ability to ensure realistic plans are developed with specific timing and resources. Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to facilitate or present training effectively while engaging and integrating adult learning methods.
Ability to determine root cause of situation and develop sound action. Ability to synthesize data and make recommendations.
Ability to develop and maintain open, candid, and trusting relationships.
Ability to collaborate as a team player.
Ability to travel 30%-50% to Markets
