Position : Water distribution worker
Job Description : Growing contractor seeks individuals willing to be trained to perform various work in water distribution.
Job Requirements:
Valid Driver’s license with no violation
Employees will be expected to work Mon-Fri and appear at the company yard in a timely manner. Weekend (overtime) hours available
Good attitude with a willingness to be trained
Preferences:
Applicants with CDL class A drivers license with tanker endorsement
ADQ Water Distribution Certification Grade 1 or 2
Applicants with Equipment Operator experience
Applicants with water distribution experience
Type of work:
Perform installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair work on water mains, service lines, valves, and fire hydrants;
Duties include: digging around utility lines and backfilling; breaking up and removing concrete/asphalt; installing and repairing waterlines, including cutting, and making joint connections on copper, plastic, and other pipe material.
Learn to flush and clean new or repaired water lines;
Learn to raise, lower, or relocate fire hydrants, water meters and valves.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment used in the construction industry. which may include generator, compressor, pump, jackhammer, cutoff saw, chain saw, street cutting saw, chop saw, sledgehammer, shovel, rake, pick axe, broom, ladder, field testing kits, measuring devices, mechanic tools, and hand tools;
Notifies residents and businesses of work being performed; responds to routine questions or complaints, or requests for service,
Maintains work records, including complaint resolutions, maintenance and repair logs, water pressure records, flow records, vehicle inspection forms, daily work logs and other safety documentation.
