Job Purpose
To Co-ordinate, address & fast track approvals across all the wings of Licensor (DoT) like FDI Issues , Allotment of codes, Lawful Interception requests, Clearances , exemptions, reliefs, products, services, etc. – for all our Licenses – Access, NLD, ILD, ISP, IFMC, IP-1, etc. at DoT
Ensure effective Interpersonal Relations with Licensor/other TSPs and other institutions such as TEC, WMO, CGCA, etc. for effective support for business operations. Engage with stakeholders and influencers in DoT and other institutions such as TEC, WMO, CGCA on regular basis on various operational licensing and regulatory issues and effectively present company’s position for effective business growth and continuity
Gauge and provide knowledge /updates on key policy and procedural developments across various divisions – USOF, Access, Data Services, Finance, Security Assurance, Carrier services Etc., – within the Department of Telecom to ensure business preparedness and minimization of adverse impact on business.
Follow/ Track movement of all important correspondences / representations made by VIL to Licensor along with its reactions to ensure that the requests for action / representations are attended to and responded to by the Licensor with alacrity.
Engage with DoT during times of disaster and ensure participation in all disaster related DoT meetings along with providing updates to DoT as per the defined frequency.
To be the repertory of general knowledge on telecom developments – national and global – and of Industry data – national and global – based on authentic data sources and to effectively disseminate such information to leadership team inside the regulatory function for effective discussions with Licensor.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
Track and Fastrack Regulatory Approvals / Clearances for Retail Products, Numbering, New Initiatives, Interconnection issues, critical exemptions/reliefs, release of Bank Guarantees, etc
To act as the eyes and ears of the Company through having ongoing interactions with operational people at the Licensor’s Office, and to gauge and understand the sentiment within DoT on various policy and procedural issues across its various divisions – USOF, Access, Data Services, Finance, Security Assurance, Carrier services Etc..
To act as the Brand Ambassador for Company at an operational level across all the concerned Government Organizations (Licensor Office / Other institutions such as TEC, WMO, CGCA, etc) and ensure effective Interpersonal Relations with their operational people for effective support for business operations.
To act as the repository of knowledge and data on regulatory
developments of National and International importance for assistance on effective representations by Senior Leadership team for the Licensor and other Institutions.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience
Should have more than 7 years of experience in Regulatory / Government / Local Bodies / Customer facing roles in telecom space.
Must have thorough understanding about business and regulations related to telecom Industry
Proficient in written and verbal communication in English & Vernacular language and ability to draft representations / letters for Government / Local Bodies.
Proficiency in Preparing MIS/Reports
Ability to develop and nurture excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Must have technical / professional qualifications
Graduate or above in any discipline.
