Position Purpose

The Management Accountant produces local reporting for ensuring that all reports are accurate and completed on a timely basis. Management Accountant works to ensure the accuracy of transactional level details, calculates and reports cost of capital charged to investment-banking activities, and reports profitability at the customer, transaction, and deal levels. All local reporting is performed in accordance with relevant and applicable instructions and requirements and within the deadlines set forth, with complete audit trail to follow.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities
Assistance to Regional Performance Manager
Design Regional Dashboards and Business reviews with relevant KPIs
Adhoc management requests related to Performance Management function
Take initiative on proposing efficient and automated process on all performance management functions
Maintain good working relationship with Regional PM teams
Providing commentary and analysis on monthly business reviews and Dashboards
Ensuring quality and timely production of all PM deliverables, and complying with HO rules and guidelines
Management Accounting & Control Functions
Perform control checking between management accounting system & accounting figures;
Perform system adjustments for correct management reporting;
Prepare monthly revenues (& related indicators) management reporting to Head Office within pre-set deadlines
Provide support to regional PMs / Country PMs and Head Office Finance in analyzing business performance;
Prepare reconciliation report between accounting and management results;
Prepare budget and forecast;
Provide analysis and response to questions raised by HO Finance / Regional Finance / internal management.
Answer various queries from Head Office Finance / Regional Finance / Local finance
Provide supports on ad hoc assignments instructed by superiors of the team.
Perform UAT on new system implementations
Ensure the figures reported are accurate and compliant with Head Office guidelines;
Perform sanity checks / high-level reviews of monthly and quarterly reports, raising questions to the senior reporting analysts for further investigation
Document and keep procedures for the production of all reporting tasks up-to-date
Update and maintain static data (i.e. tables) for which the team is responsible
Support the team’s tools / databases, as well as its reporting templates / models and macros
Assist in monthly system parameters checking;
Direct contribution to BNP Paribas operational permanent control framework
Contributing Responsibilities
Projects, Systems Support, Operational Process Improvements
Assist in identifying process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness
Participate in the upgrades / version releases of respective reporting tools, as well as system amendments / enhancements required to facilitate new / modified reporting requirements. In connection with this effort, assist in user acceptance testing and trouble-shooting after deployment.
Help document operational process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to support team’s efficiency and effectiveness initiatives. Also, assist in integrating and streamlining the reporting under the team’s responsibility.
Provide cross-training to colleagues and perform specific duties as assigned (e.g. coverage for colleagues)

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

2 -4 yrs of experience in global financial services company in accounting and management reporting.
Excellent PC skills; ability to learn new systems quickly
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Macros, formulas, pivot tables, charts, and graphs)
Good analytical skills and understanding of banking and financial services domain
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a changing and moving environment
Curiosity and open to other cultures
