Job Description
The schedule for this position for the first 3 months is 8am-5pm for training, thereafter hours may be flexible. After training, a required OT weekend rotation will be added to check crystals 2-3 times per day or as needed (typically every 3rd or 4th weekend, 3-6 hours total per day).
Job Summary:
This role is responsible for core activities associated with the production of synthetic single-crystal materials. The position will operate high temperature crystal growth equipment and will perform maintenance and repairs on crystal growth support equipment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Grow station set-up and breakdown
Monitor crystal growth process
Processing various materials into different forms
Equipment maintenance and repair
Check growth stations on weekend rotations
Physical ability to go up and down a 12” step to access crystal chamber platforms
Job Qualifications:
Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
High school diploma/GED required, Technical Associates or Bachelor’ Degree preferred
Chemistry experience in laboratory setting preferred
Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic shop tools, calipers and scales
Basic knowledge of welding and/or ability to learn
Basic knowledge of chemistry and/or ability to learn
MS Excel experience preferred and/or ability to learn
Good written and oral communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Able and willing to lift 50 lbs. and go up and down steps, and to work in a shop/lab environment for long periods of time
Able and willing to work rotating weekend hours
