About This Role:
Reporting to the director of internal support, the desktop support technician is responsible for providing first- and second-level desktop support to employees and teammates. This individual supports the Forrester desktop image, operating system and applications, desktop hardware (notebooks), phones, A/V, and network connectivity for Forrester offices and remote workers (offices, home offices, and travelers). The Desktop Support Technician assists with software and hardware deployment projects, participating in internal and cross-department projects to launch new systems and update existing ones.
The successful candidate for this position will support the project lead in ensuring a successful deployment and help create supporting documentation, how-tos and Backstage (intranet) pages, and, where appropriate, training programs to support the launch. This individual will participate in training initiatives internally, ensuring that the highest standards of knowledge and adherence to Forrester help desk best practices are being met.
The Desktop Support Technician will support the New Delhi office primarily and provide remote support to workers in the Asia Pacific region (offices, home workers, and travelers) as well as cover EMEA and US when necessary.
Job Description:
Provide first- and second-level support to Forrester employees’ hardware and software needs.
Test, deploy, and support technology projects.
Work as part of a rotation of trainers for new hires.
Provide front-line support and handle project work (expected split is 80:20).
Job Requirements:
BA or BS degree, with three-plus years’ experience in supporting and configuring hardware, software, and related topics.
High level of analytical, problem-solving skills is necessary.
Thorough knowledge of Windows, MS Office applications, and PC hardware support and repair.
Experience in supporting MacOS is preferred.
Experience with computer management systems, e.g., Microsoft SCCM and/or Intune/Endpoint Manager.
Familiarity with security solutions and protocols, antivirus software, desktop backup, desktop encryption, etc.
Experience in supporting AV and desktop videoconferencing solutions, e.g., Webex/Zoom/MS Teams, including room or personal hardware.
Experience with mobile technologies and in configuring and deploying phone and tablet platforms.
Experience in deploying and training new technology, both hardware and software.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Passion for technology innovation.
Willingness to be on call off hours as part of a regular rotation.
