Job Description : Job Summary Responsible for providing friendly and efficient service while maintaining a superior guest experience. Assist guests with purchases, process payments and operate the point of sale system. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Offer friendly service to our customers by responding to their needs, being available to answer questions ensuring a memorable shopping experience. * Performs stocking duties such as lifting, proper product rotation, dusting, fronting and facing of product * Product knowledge, being able to suggest products to our customers when appropriate * Operates cash register, processes payments, balances drawer and understanding of proper bank/drop procedures * Maintain knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation guidelines being followed, assist in making sure these are being completed daily * Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas * Ensure freezers/coolers are maintained at the appropriate temperatures, assist with daily temperature checks and maintaining temperature logs * Assist with processing and fulfilling specialty programs, such as “Fill Your Fridge” and Gift Baskets * Ensures soups, pantry and salad bar product is ready for our guest at appropriate times while following proper serve safe guidelines * Ensure product is properly tagged with proper pricing * Ensure product dates are being checked, removal of all outdated product from sales floor and proper process is followed for recording and discarding of product waste * Works with direct Supervisor, Assistant Manager and Manager on daily task * Reporting of low inventory levels, receive product deliveries and confirm the accuracy of both orders and invoices * Sign and adhere to the uniform policy set in place * Open/Close retail shop as scheduled * Other duties as assigned Job Specifications Competencies: * Clear and concise verbal communication skills * Ability to count back change and reconcile a bank.Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology. * Dependable and meets goals. * Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values and Employee Handbook Education: * High School diploma or equivalent required. Physical & Other Requirements: * While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. * The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration. * Non-smoking candidates preferred. * Minimum age requirement is 16.
