WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As the North America Close Accountant, you will be a critical player to enable a timely and accurate consolidated close with a specific focus on North America Retail. You will partner with Technology and Finance teams to drive cross-functional process improvements, and proactively identify and communicate issues that might impact critical close processes.
You will actively participate as a key team member and subject matter expert as the organization implements a number of transformative initiatives by providing insight to drive operational close efficiencies in both NIKE’s current system landscape, as well as in the implementation process of a new ERP.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Execute accounting processes and maintain effective internal controls across the North America Retail system landscape
Systematic closing of multiple legal entities and systems with a primary focus on North America and WHQ
Perform SOX controls and reconciliations key to the closing process
Contribute to design decisions and play a key role in the development of NIKE’s new ERP
Serve as the subject matter expert and owner of NA retail close, proactively communicating close status and updates across Controlling, Finance, and Operations teams
Partner with the broader Record to Report Operations and Strategic Initiatives team to support the development of world-class policies, processes, and controls
Being part of the larger NIKE Controlling Organization; embracing best practices and driving process excellence, including LEAN initiatives over existing processes

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Controlling organization reporting to the Global Close Accounting Manager and part of the broader Legal Entity Record to Report Team. You will also work cross-functionally with stakeholders from Controlling, Finance, and Technology business units.

WHAT YOU BRING
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in accounting or related function
Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience with SAP is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with senior leadership
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once, operate with a high degree of ambiguity, and drive clarity
Strong enthusiasm and passion for the NIKE brand!
