The NSRL is a multidisciplinary team of researchers, innovators, and scientists who lead with science to make athletes* measurably better. We deliver validated insights and innovative capabilities to drive the future of Nike products and services. The NSRL Applied Apparel Research team conducts research that provides insights leading to innovative apparel and measurable benefits for athlete. We apply scientific methods and research results to drive new footwear concepts and platforms across multiple innovation teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a passionate Researcher who can help us create the future of sport by executing research projects (both applied and basic research) aimed at delivering validated performance insights that will lead to technologically innovative apparel, footwear, and equipment that are globally relevant.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will participate in the development of new tools, methods and procedures that will streamline data acquisition. In addition, you will become a resident specialist for all of the biomechanical research tools used by the NSRL staff. You will demonstrate Nike’s dedication to product performance research through attendance at scientific meetings, clinics and conferences, and by presenting research findings and insights to diverse audiences.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report directly to the Senior Director of Apparel Applied Research in the NSRL. You will serve as a full time member of the Product Creation Process, interacting with Principal and Senior Researchers, and Product Innovators in all phases of research to provide a holistic evaluation of innovation concepts.

WHAT YOU BRING
Requirements for the position include:
To Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomechanics or a related field (i.e. Engineering, Kinesiology, Human Factors, Ergonomics, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Detailed understanding of anatomy, biomechanical principles, experimental designs, statistical procedures, sport performance, and injury mechanisms
Strong programming skills (Python, Matlab, and/or Javascript)
Experience using in-lab and field-based biomechanical data collection tools with human test participants
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience being a creative scientist (e.g. novel protocols or analytical methods)
Good communication, people, and collaboration skills
Bias toward action and resilience in the face of challenges
Exposure to industrial research experience preferred
Knowledge of footwear and equipment product creation processes is a plus
Experience with wearable devices and signal analysis is preferred
