Job Description : Technical Skill Set:
Knowledge of DITA
Knowledge of DITA and DITA best practices
Experience with any XML editor
Proficient in DITA elements and attributes
Knowledge of single sourcing
Understanding of DITA reuse mechanisms
Proficient in minimalism and topic-based writing
Knowledge of Content Management System (CMS)
Version control and branching
Metadata concepts
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, and basic engineering concepts.
Responsibilities:
Understand complex technical concepts and interpret it in simple understandable language.
Gather information from a variety of sources like engineering instructions, engineering drawings, CAD models and from SMEs.
Convey clear, concise, and accurate technical information.
Communicate with global stakeholders.
Gather quality data and act on improvement actions at team level.
Review documents written and illustrated by other team members to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, compliance with style guide.
Work in a collaborative environment.
Multitasking.
Technical Writing/Content Development/Technical Documentation. Technical Communication Specialist needs to understand complex concepts by interacting with product experts and interpret the same to end users in a simple understandable content.
Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers
Work with technical staff to make products easier to use and thus need fewer instructions
Organize and write supporting documents for products
Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding
Standardize content across platforms and media
Gather usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers
Revise documents as new issues arise
