Job Description : Roles and Responsibilities
Job purpose
People Advisory Services (PAS) provides corporate clients with an effective and efficient set of integrated offerings solving their most pertinent people related business challenges. Currently, the GDS provides PAS international mobility services to various EY practice offices and clients around the world.
A Manager will play an instrumental role in managing engagements and teams at GDS and be responsible for client service delivery. Reporting in to a Senior Manager, they will assist the management team in developing and coaching team members as well as ensuring that resources are deployed effectively
Client responsibilities
Lead a moderate sized engagement managing the engagement team and a sizeable portion of the business
Demonstrate Tax technical proficiency
Sign moderate Tax returns and own the entire compliance process
Contribute process improvement ideas leading to higher quality service delivery to the client
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with the clients and internal colleagues
Explore opportunities to bring more work to the GDS by consistently providing high quality work
Supervise day to day operations and engagement milestones with little or no senior manager involvement
Efficiently manage engagement financials
Handle assignee queries and manage service issues and escalations (ensuring Senior Manager can represent these and appropriate resolution activities accordingly)
Ensure that performance goals, including engagement economics, turnaround time and quality targets are met
Work with Senior Managers on advisory and ad-hoc projects
Support internal and client global meetings (e.g. EY networks, on client policies, engagement account, etc.)
Identify opportunities to leverage information and resources across assignments and teams
Know the firm policies related to independence, confidentiality and privacy, client acceptance and engagement letters, tax return preparer guidelines and knowledge-sharing
Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently

Technical skills requirements
Bachelors/Masters degree in Commerce, Management, Accountancy or Tax.
ATT, CTA or ACCA qualification (s) will be an added advantage
Additional skills requirements
Effective communication skills by being articulate, thoughtful and adapting communications to target audiences; interacting effectively in person, by phone and in writing
