The Vice President of Strategic Transformation will serve as a leader and trusted advisor to the Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer of HFHS. In partnership with the leaders of the Strategy Division, the VP of Strategic Transformation will work directly with the executive leadership team driving the development and documentation of strategic priorities in a manner that facilitates executive decision-making. The VP will work with internal and external stakeholders, including the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, the Strategic Services leadership team, as well as national, local, and community leaders to define projects and programs in alignment with the organizations strategic goals.

This role will enable successful achievement of core objectives in the HFHS Strategic Plan by working collaboratively with HAP, Operations, and Clinical Services to align strategic and operational priorities, support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, and establish standard work that enables the efficient monitoring of key performance metrics. The VP will lead key transformational initiatives focused on growing and expanding the capabilities of the organization and that enable HFHS to enter new businesses and new markets.
The successful candidate can assist with the management of the current business needs while ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources to new ventures and growth opportunities. This role requires a resourceful, highly motivated problem solver with strong emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills and executive presence. This position will report to the EVP, Chief Strategy Officer and will manage the Transformation Consulting team and will work collaboratively with leaders across multiple business units.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
Leads, manages, and oversees strategic and highly visible project initiatives defined by the executive council.
Serves in a leadership capacity as a planner and facilitator responsible for supporting the needs of the Chief Strategy Officer and the executive leadership team in achieving the goals defined in the HFHS Strategic Plan with specific focus on the annual priorities set by the CEO.
Works collaboratively with members of the executive team to ensure that the strategic priorities and key business decisions are properly resourced by Transformation Consulting, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Innovations, and/or Government and Community Affairs.
Coordinates the completion of projects that the Chief Strategy Officer and the Strategic Services Leadership team are directly accountable for managing or supporting.
Provides independent leadership of designated projects by convening key stakeholders, collaborating with critical partners, and communicating project goals and progress.
Plans, organizes, and facilitates effective leadership meetings for the CEO, EVPs, and Division leaders.

Management & Supervision
Manages a highly skilled team of internal consultants who are experienced industrial engineers, project managers, analysts, planners, change agents, and facilitators to define current state, future state and overall change management for defined initiatives.
Directly supervises several director level positions responsible for running the Project Management Office, Strategic Growth, Enterprise System Transformation & Redesign.
Works with the team to create management tools and techniques that improve operational efficiency, goal attainment, and successful completion of strategic initiatives.
Work with Human Resources to assist with the alignment of Transformation Consulting resources with high impact priority initiatives essential to the transformation of the system.
Essential to the role will be ensuring line leader skill building to minimize dependence on Transformation Consultants and enabling a smooth transition from transformation to operations.

Responsibilities
Leads large cross-functional transformation programs and provides subject matter expertise and industry best practices related to clinical, business, and operational transformation.
Coordinates the dissemination of cutting-edge change management and clinical, operational redesign methodologies, best practices in project management, and industry knowledge that is relevant to the business goals and objectives of HFHS
Work across the enterprise to identify opportunities to enhance coordination, standardization, and centralization of business processes and resources and then work with leadership to develop the business case, change management plans, and implementation strategy.
Manages the Department budget on behalf of the EVP and ensures leaders within the division are informed of available resources, have a plan for managing the resources, and supports development of recommendations to re-allocate or request new and additional resources.
Support the work of the Chief Strategy Officer required to continue driving key strategic priorities forward and assist the CEO and the Executive Leadership team as needed on projects and initiatives aimed at transforming the system.
Serve as an ambassador internally and externally advancing HFHS’s goals and brand.

Excellent Relationship Manager
Must be able to manage horizontally and vertically exceptionally well and augment or compliment the skill set of the EVP to ensure full team effectiveness.
Experience interacting regularly with System Senior Leaders as clients and principal decision makers for initiative prioritization and execution. Works collaboratively with administrators, managers, and physicians on projects within their areas.
Ability to manage complex relationships, build trust, resolve conflict, and drive results while providing significant value to operational partnerships.
Comfortable developing a network of industry and out of industry experts in order to research and utilize innovations and best practices from other industries.
Competently represents the EVP and other Senior leaders when necessary at internal and external engagements to ensure the most effective use of the team’s time and resources.
Manages via influence in a highly matrixed work environment where subject matter experts, analytical and planning resources reside outside of the department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or other related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of three (7) years of leadership experience required.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience as a business leader in a large, matrixed organization.
Demonstrative experience collaborating and partnering with stakeholders and leaders at a variety of levels and across departments within a similar sized company as HFHS.
