Job Description : Job Description: Job summary
The Accounting Specialist performs various Accounting activities. Leads the accounts payable and related expense management functions. Performs data entry and reconciliations and analyses of accounts payable, expense reports, company credit cards and similar. Assists in developing and updating processes and procedures related to accounts payable, expense reports, credit cards and other areas of responsibility. Other accounting functions as requested.

Duties/skills/knowledge

Performs routine accounts payable functions including invoice matching to purchase orders, keyed invoice entry, freight invoice entry.

Reconciliation of discrepant invoices.

Performs check runs, sets up weekly wire transfers.

Enters /matches credit card activity to credit card statements.

Reviews employee expense report – ensure compliance with company policy.

Answer routine and non-routine requests for information on A/P including supplier payment status.
Reconciles supplier statements.
Manages supplier prepayments and subsequent clearing.

Works in multiple currencies.

Develops, revises, and implements accounts payable policies, processes and procedures.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to people. Interacts easily with management, peers, subordinates, and third-party service providers.

Strong initiative and solid judgment skills.

Excellent written and verbal skills

Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.

Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience/education

High School Diploma; AA or BS in relevant field preferred

3-5 years’ experience in accounts payable.

Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and computerized accounting systems.

Manufacturing background preferred.
