Job Description : The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.

Review, approve, and sign-out reports for a variety of metabolic results on platforms including tandem mass spectrometry, GC-MS, enzymology, and other methodologies.
Interpret complex biochemical analysis results in the context of medical literature, along with relevant patient demographic data.
Provide clinical and technical support for laboratory personnel including appropriate test method selection
Set standards for laboratory testing and acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure these are maintained
Oversee overall quality management in the lab including QC, internal and external QA
Analyze lab data, contribute to or write publications for high-quality scientific journals.
Availability for consultation concerning test results and the interpretation of those results as they relate to specific patient conditions
Review, approve, and sign-out reports for a variety of metabolic results on platforms including tandem mass spectrometry, GC-MS, enzymology, and other methodologies.

Minimum Qualification

PhD in a related scientific field required.
ABMGG board-certified in Clinical biochemical genetics, or equivalent board required.
5 or more years of experience in a certified clinical biochemical genetics laboratory setting analyzing, interpreting and reporting clinical metabolic data.
Knowledge of current newborn screening practices.
Management experience required.
