Position : Assistant/Associate/Professor – Institute of Public Health (IPH)
Job Description : The Institute of Public Health (IPH) of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), UAE University, wishes to appoint a full-time Assistant/Associate/Professor to contribute to its teaching and research activities focusing on health policy, health systems and health management.
We are looking to appoint a suitable candidate with training, experience and achievements in Health Systems, Health Policy and Health Management.
Applicant should have a track record in teaching at undergraduate and/or advanced postgraduate level including designing curricula, overseeing courses and supervising student research projects. The successful candidate will contribute to programs of undergraduate and graduate teaching, including the MPH and PhD programs and professional training. The IPH has a thriving graduate teaching program and currently has 28 PhD students and 40 MPH students.
Furthermore, she/he should be accomplished in conducting and supervising research. It is expected she/he will have published her/his research findings in reputable journals. A key requirement for the successful candidate will be to initiate and be the principal investigator for research projects relevant to the health of communities in the UAE. There are good opportunities for collaboration with colleagues in the College of Medicine and other UAEU colleges in addition to local and regional institutions. Particular importance is attached to developing strong links with other educational establishments, health authorities, government agencies and other institutions in the UAE and the wider region. International collaboration, especially with World Health Organization, is encouraged. Experience in acquiring grants for research projects will be desired.
The successful candidate will also share administrative work in the IPH and the College of Medicine including serving on committees, coordinating the courses, invigilating examinations, and contributing to student assessments.
Minimum Qualification
Master degree in Medicine or Allied Health Professions (e.g. public health, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.); and PhD in Health Policy/Health Management/Public Health/International/Global Health/.
Preferred Qualification
As above.
