Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Job Duties

+ Responsible to lead the design team to enhance the “Design Excellence” through qualified project delivery.

+ Manage design stage including coordination with project stakeholders and others external and internal parties to achieve project milestones targets up to construction documents and selection of contractors.

+ Technical Report writing

+ Establish Project schedules / controls

+ Follow up and control deliverables

+ Liaise with clients concerning progress through meetings and transmittals

+ Conduct Management review meetings to update higher management.

+ Manage & co-ordinate engineering activities, designers & CAD operators for specific projects.

+ Supervise subordinate personnel in preparing plans, specifications and preliminary construction layouts and cost estimates.

+ Acts as the Company representative with the Client and selected consultants and contractors during the program execution. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key sub-consultants. Responsible for following up on instructions & commitments associated with the project.

+ Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan and other documents.

+ Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.

+ Plans, directs, supervises and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the assigned project or subtask.

+ Assigns responsibility to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilise their qualifications & strengths.

+ Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.

+ Work with other managers, project engineers and discipline Heads to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of a project.

+ Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.

+ Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

+ Minimum 12 years post undergraduate experience

Preferred Qualifications

+ B. Sc or BEng in Electrical Engineering, International Accreditation (CEng, MCIBSE, MIEE or equivalent).

+ Local Authority Engineer registration preferred.
