Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. Light & Wonder’s gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.

Position Summary

Associate game artists work with experiences team members to develop eye-catching art for casino games throughout the world. At L&W you will be mentored by exceptionally talented artists, tasked with creating game art for extraordinary brands such as: Lord of the Rings, James Bond 007, Wizard of Oz, Wonka, and many more. As part of our Chicago studio you will enjoy working in friendly environment in the center of the city, with all the tools and guidance necessary for your professional growth.

Essential Job Functions:

Work alongside experienced artists to create game art for all aspects of our slot games, including symbol art, backgrounds, display art and game animations.

Create high-caliber art, maintaining excellent art quality in regard to character design, color theory, layout, text treatment, and animation ability.

Continually sharpen artistic and software expertise through company training, independent learning, and learning from other team members.

Prove an ability to produce high-quality art in an iterative process.

Display a high degree of professionalism at all times, accepting critique from team members.

Prove accountability for the timely completion of all assigned tasks.

Demonstrate excellent file structure and organization. Create art assets and document all art assets created with minimal mistakes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Bachelor of Arts in art/animation

Preferred Experience: 1 – 2 years previous experience as an Artist in a production environment

Excellent drawing and rendering abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Photoshop

Working knowledge of Illustrator, Flash, After Effects, Studio Max or other 3D platform

Samples of sketch work (sketchbook or loose-leaf)

Layered working Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, and Studio Max files as appropriate to the position

Animation samples if animation is core ability (AVI, Quicktime, or website)
