Job Summary

The Professional Education Department at the University of Utah’s University Connected Learning division offers programs and micro-credentials in Project Management, Human Resources, Leadership, Instructional Design, Technology, and Healthcare fields. In order to expand our course offering at our St. George campus, we are looking to expand our instructor base.

We are currently seeking instructors capable of teaching courses online and in-person. Our courses range from one day workshops to courses that meet multiple times, 2 hours per session. All courses are part of certificate programs and/or micro-credential programs. Instructors will teach within our established course offerings. The course load per semester will vary. Instructors generally teach 1-3 courses per term. We are looking for instructors with expertise in the following areas:

Project Management (PMP certification required)
Human Resources ( SHRM or SPHR certification required)
Management
Leadership
Instructional Design
Small Business and non-profit operations
LSAT Prep

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Deliver comprehensive curriculum for the assigned course, utilizing Canvas and Zoom if teaching online
Allow reasonable accessibility outside of class for student e-mails and questions, especially immediately before and after class
Timely communication with the Professional Education staff of any student issues, online learning issues, classroom issues, or other issues requiring attention
Take attendance and grade student participation in the class as “satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory”
Provide additional resources or readings to supplement classroom time as appropriate
Other tasks as reasonable and mutually approved

Preferences

Advanced degree in field preferred
Experience teaching online and/or via Zoom or similar platform
Ability to teach a range of courses within field
