DESCRIPTION
Company Profile:
Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firm’s employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries. As a market leader, the talent and passion of our people is critical to our success. Together, we share a common set of values rooted in integrity, excellence and strong team ethic. Morgan Stanley can provide a superior foundation for building a professional career – a place for people to learn, to achieve and grow. A philosophy that balances personal lifestyles, perspectives and needs is an important part of our culture.
Department Profile:
Shared Service Banking Operations (SSBO) delivers industry utility solutions by aligning the right functions, people, processes and tools into 14 core disciplines offering tailored client service levels that are efficient, controlled and compliant with regulation. This open role is within the Account Reference Data Services (ARDS) team which is part of SSBO*s Client Reference Data Services (CRDS) sub-department. CRDS is located in Mumbai, Glasgow and Baltimore, providing global coverage to our vast array of stakeholders.
Team Profile:
ARDS mitigates operational, regulatory and financial risk to the Firm by establishing account reference data standards, governance and exception resolution. This is achieved by working with account owners and subject matter experts to define the usage of an account and to ensure that positions on the account are accurately reflected on the Balance Sheet. Counterparty details must reflect the internal/external nature of the account and several other key attributes such as Account Category, Classification and Business Definition should be aligned with the Specific Account Usage (SAU).
This is a dynamic and technical environment. ARDS team is responsible for over 650 Data Quality (DQ) rules that test over two million accounts each day. Newly identified DQ exceptions must be addressed in a timely manner whilst remediation efforts pertaining to legacy issues will compete for prioritization. ARDS team works with its stakeholders on enhancing existing DQ rules and through collaboration with Technology, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance and other departments across Operations, ARDS team helps ensure that account opening platforms keep pace with changing business requirements. This is particularly true of the Non-Client On-Boarding (NCOB) application.
ARDS supports an array of cross-functional stakeholders across all locations. Scope of role is significant with tremendous opportunities to learn more about the Firm*s growing dependency on reliable, meaningful account reference data. To satisfy this critical position, the applicant can expect to receive daily requests (some urgent) regarding project consultation, data enrichment and best practice around account opening/setup. Such wide and varied interaction with so many different groups makes this a great platform to enhance your career.
