Purpose of Position: The Benefits Specialist, under the direction of the Benefits Manager, is responsible for the daily administration of employee benefits programs. The Benefits Specialist ensures company compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer all employee health and voluntary benefit plans
Administer 401k, Worker’s Compensation, and Leaves of Absence
Coordinate with insurance carriers, file claims as necessary
Assist employees with issues related to enrolling, maintaining, and understanding their benefits
Ensure benefit plan compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution
All other duties as assigned

RequirementsQualifications:

Knowledge of all employee benefit plans, self-funded insurance plans, workers’ compensation, leave of absence, 401k, Affordable Care Act
Must be analytical and self-motivated with a strong sense of confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel), benefits policies and procedures, and legal compliance

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
A minimum of 2 years of benefits experience preferred
