STORE CLERK – CENTER STORE JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose: Receive and stock all center store departments, ensuring a clean, attractive, well-organized shopping experience.
Status: Reports to Grocery Manager
Pay Level III/non-exempt
Nights and weekend availability required
Pay is biweekly. Payroll schedule will be available during onboarding
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTERNAL SERVICE BASICS FOR ALL STAFF
Provide excellent customer service to our shoppers, making the customer’s needs top priority whenever on the sales floor or answering the phone.
Share information with our shoppers about co-op happenings, educational opportunities, and the benefits of co-op ownership .
Provide excellent internal customer service to all staff members, maintaining an attitude of goodwill toward self and others.
Help to create a work environment that is cooperative, fun, productive, and safe, and that focuses on solutions.
Responsibilities:
RECEIVING
Receive deliveries for all center store departments, assisting with checking received items against invoices as needed.
Ensure shelves/bins/coolers are fully stocked and rotated for freshness, using first in/first out and checking dates.
Maintain organized and clearly labeled overstock according to co-op standards.
Assist and support Hands-On Owners working stocking shifts, answering questions and providing guidance as necessary.
MERCHANDISING
Follow standards for merchandising for all center-store departments. Check shelf tags for accuracy and placement.
Ensure shelves/bins/coolers are fully stocked and rotated for freshness, using first in/first out and checking dates.
Assist Buyers, Grocery Manager, and Store Manager in creation of attractive displays.
DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE
Notify department leads of damaged or unsellable items. Dispose of according to co-op policy.
Ensure that center store department shelves, displays, aisles and storage areas in clean, orderly condition, meeting health department and sound merchandising standards.
Ensure back stock is stored and labeled in an organized manner for easy access and rotation.
Clean display cases, refrigerator glass and interiors, shelves and aisles.
Assist with quarterly inventory count.
Notify department leads of any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
Begin working on Front End after 90 day introductory period.
Perform other functions at request of the Grocery Manager.
