Position : Cloud Operations Engineer
Job Description : Roles and Responsibilities
5 years of hands-on experience engineering, deploying and operating cloud solutions; with a preference for the AWS platform.
Experience with AWS Tooling including, but not limited to EC2, Lambda, S3, R53, CloudWatch etc.
Capability to troubleshoot and provide RCA (root cause analysis) via an examination of an application/platform stack
Experience with infrastructure and application considerations for production systems/services, including; encryption, authentication, and BC/DR.
Proficient with common enterprise programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C++, Java, C#, etc.
Knowledge of source code versioning GitHub, Bitbucket, etc., CI/CD tools
Knowledge & experience in the following areas is required: ITIL Processes, CMDB structures & best practices, log management, event aggregation from disparate hosting environments, & capacity planning processes supporting on-premises & public cloud deployment models
We’d Love To See:
Experience with using monitoring tools like App-Dynamics, Solarwinds, Grafana and log management tools like Splunk, Prometheus, ELK, etc.
Good understanding of and experience with design patterns, with Cloud and Microservice Design patterns-preferred.
Experience implementing Infrastructure As Code (IAC) with Terraform.
Good understanding of CI/CD, in addition to the principles of when and how services should be versioned to facilitate enterprise (worldwide) consumption of our many “customers”.
Working knowledge of BMC Remedy and composition of knowledgebase articles.
Working knowledge of Linux including shell scripting and basic system administration is a plus.
Impact You’ll Make:
As a Cloud Operations Support engineer, you will join as a member on one of the core teams responsible for front lining the Cloud related questions and issues
You will utilize basic troubleshooting and diagnosing capabilities to perform service recovery actions. If required, collaborate with the correct development teams to build SOPs for a newly identified incident.
Work directly with various business units and assist them with their cloud migration efforts
Create automated approaches/components for administrative, redundant, and common process tasks (where appropriate)
Provide on-call support and escalation path for potential outage impacting incident.
Identify critical alarms/events and engage right teams for quick restoration of service
