Job Description : Opportunity
Fortune 500 client seeks a Corporate Communications Strategist to join their team initially in a remote contract role, expected to transition to onsite in Detroit, MI. Responsible for developing strategic communication plans and producing products consistent with established business goals and objectives. Ensures that key messages and information reach target audiences, and adjusts messages based on key input and feedback. Designs, creates, and produces strategic communications for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities
Develops and maintains relationships with media contacts to establish an ongoing communications path for company issues, development, products and services
Provides internal and external communication counsel and support to senior leader(s) within the business unit
Maintains a keen focus on delivering messaging to all stakeholders, including the media, customers, and employees
Manages and is accountable for communication projects from inception to completion; operating with substantial latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions
Manages multiple projects with supervision, ensuring budget compliance, and achievement of strategic communication objectives
Effectively manages all business unit communications from strategic, outcome-driven planning through tactical execution
Ensures appropriate research analysis and continuous improvement efforts are undertaken to measure and improve communication impact within own discipline
Ensures all internal and external communications are integrated and aligned with business strategy
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or related discipline
4 years of proven effectiveness in creating and implementing communication strategies and developing effective communication plans
Experience with market research, direct marketing, web communications, public relations, design production, and advertising
Demonstrated proficiency in project management and a working knowledge of all the facets of the communication disciplines, including a good working knowledge of web-based communications
Experience challenging and influencing business partners, using negotiation skills to resolve disputes, and using continuous improvement tools to improve processes
Demonstrated subject matter expertise in communications planning and managing internal and external resources to deliver final products
Benefits
Pay range is up to $82K annually ($37 to $41 an hour, commensurate with experience)
